There is still time to give!!

Some Hill families need a little help to make their holidays a bit brighter. There are two ways you can help Hill families this holiday season.
GENERAL DONATION: HEB gift cards and wrapping paper are needed and can be donated at the office.
INDIVIDUAL SNOWFLAKE GIFTS: Each child will have one specific gift from their wish list on a snowflake in the front office. Please stop by or ask your child to stop by and pick up a snowflake to donate a specific item.
Please sign up on the form located by the snowflakes when you take a snowflake and return the item to the counselors by Friday December 15th with the snowflake attached to the gift.

If you have any questions please contact Kristina Spess at spesskristi@gmail.com or Sheila Wessels at sheila.wessels@austinisd.org or Stephanie Winfrey at stephanie.winfrey@austinisd.org
Thank you in advance for your generosity to Hill families in our community!

You won’t want to miss the PTA Meeting this Thursday!!

Please Join Us This Thursday, Nov. 16th at 7:45am in the Hill Library for our PTA meeting and guest speaker-Devorah Heitner, PhD, Founder & Director of Raising Digital Natives

Our kids are growing up in a different world. How do we help them be mindful & responsible citizens in the 21st century? Our speaker will offer a refreshing perspective on kids and media that goes beyond the typical admonishment that limits “screentime”. She offers concrete criteria to evaluate the quality of our children’s media experiences and is a resource for anyone seeking advice on how to help children thrive in a world of digital connectedness.

Click here for more information about Raising Kids in a Digital Age.

We hope you see you there!

LAST CHANCE to VOTE and make a difference for our kids!

The day has come!  Thank you to all of you who participated in early voting over the last couple of weeks.  Numbers were low so if you didn’t already vote, please make sure to vote tomorrow – Tuesday, November 7th.  Hill Elementary along with Murchison Middle School and Anderson High School will be polling sites on Tuesday.  Drop off your child at school and walk over and vote.  It’s that easy!

*** Due to a change put into place this last legislative session, the AISD bond is actually titled “Proposition A” and is the last item on the ballot. ***

Each ballot will have items in this order: 1) Texas constitutional amendments (there are seven); 2) Travis County bonds (there are two); and 3) the AISD bond. Please read all the way to the end of your ballot to find the school bond.

Let’s make sure to get out there and have our voices heard! Every vote matters! Every vote counts!

Just as a reminder, the Hill PTA voted unanimously to support this bond. To see how Hill will be impacted should the bond pass, please click here!

Election Day is Nov. 7th. Polling locations are listed below:
Hill Elementary
Murchison Middle School
Anderson High School
Fire Station #33 on Bluegrass Drive
Renaissance Retirement Center on Taylor Draper Lane
Lakewood HOA
North Village Public Library
St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church

The Dillo Dads need your help!

The Dillo Dads are having a work day this Sunday, October 22nd and definitely could use some extra volunteers.  Anyone is welcome, not just Dads, and even the smallest amount of time is a big help.  So if you can spare an hour, or more, please email chiefdillodad@gmail.com.  We’ll be repairing vandalism in Hill Harbor, improving the outdoor learning area for the 4th grade portables, finishing the new shed, repairing and painting picnic tables around the campus, and much more.  A single hour helps so much!!

Sports Day Oct 18-20….No morning assembly!!

We are so excited about Sports Day coming up this week!  Many thanks to Coach T and Coach Schafer for their organization of this healthy event!

As a reminder, we will NOT have Assembly Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning.  Students should still come to the cafeteria/gym at their normal time each morning.  At 7:35 a.m., teachers will come to the cafeteria/gym and walk their students back to their classrooms.  Students arriving between 7:35 and 7:45 should go straight to their classroom.

At 7:45 a.m., we will use the loudspeaker for any announcements, as well as the pledges.
