Monday and Tuesday – Book Fair Extended

Book Fair has been extended to Monday, Feb. 7th (8am-4pm) and Tuesday, Feb. 8th (8am-3pm)!  Come visit us in the Library to see all of the amazing books and items for sale.  Interested in helping as a cashier for the Fair?  Please sign up here: Book Fair Volunteer Sign Up.

Classes that missed the chance to shop the fair last week have been rescheduled for Monday and Tuesday.  Check out the updated Book Fair Class Visit Schedule.  Come shop with your child or sign up to be a cashier during their shift!  New for Monday, the fair will be extended to 4:00 pm!  Please note that only a certain number of people can be in the library at one time.  If you come shop during your child’s classroom visit, please be mindful about the amount of time you spend in the library.  We’d hate for anyone to get stuck in the hall and not have a turn inside.  Thank you for your cooperation!

You can still sign up for eWallet on the book fair homepage: http://www.scholastic.com/bf/hilldillos.  If your child has funds available, they can shop at the fair.  Just let their teacher know, and the teachers will send small groups throughout the day to shop.  If you would prefer to send cash with your Dillo, please make sure it is labeled with their name.

Thank you to all who have enjoyed the fair so far!  If you have any questions, please email Melanie Petersen at bookfair@hillelementary.com.  Happy shopping!

Happening Now – Hoopla Buy-In Party Planning

DILLO! DILLO! ATX!

Buy-In Party planners needed! This might be the most fun way to support Hill Elementary! WHAT’S A BUY-IN PARTY? It’s a party hosted/donated by Hill parents. On the night of Hoopla, attendees will have a chance to buy a ticket to your party, and all money earned goes straight back to Hill. These tickets go fast and the parties are so much fun. You won’t want to miss out on your opportunity to give back by hosting a party with your friends and fellow parents. Here are some ideas:

  • parties for children by grade level (Ex: “Incoming 4th Grade Co-Ed Pool Party” or “Incoming 2nd Grade Sports Party”)
  • parties for adults by the grade level of their children (Ex: “Incoming 3rd Grade Moms Happy Hour”)
  • parties for children and adults by grade level (Ex: “Incoming 5th Grade Father-Son Kickball Game”)
  • parties open to all adults (Ex: “Dads Poker Tourney” or “Couples Wine Dinner”)

An individual, couple, or even a group of friends can host. Veteran hosts, we need you back and we’re excited to hear your plans! There are no limits on guest counts this year. Newcomers, please don’t be shy! Reach out to Vanessa Allgood, Buy-In Party Chair, at vanessa.allgood@gmail.com with any questions. She’s excited to help coordinate these parties and support our community! When you get the details of your party set, please let her know by filling out this GOOGLE FORM.  Thank you Hill families!
