Hill School has a student council leadership group that consists of elected students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Two representatives from each 3rd, 4th and 5th grade class are elected as well as school-wide officers are elected from the 5th grade. For more information, please contact Jan Phillips at jphillip@austinisd.org.
There is a group of 5th grade students at Hill that assist with the arrival and dismissal times at school each day. These students assist their fellow students in safely getting into their car in the pick up line, their bus in the bus line and/or the crosswalks for those walking home or to a parked car. For more information on this group, please contact Jeri Putnam at jputnam@austinisd.org or Christy Cochran at ccochran@austinisd.org.
Students in the 4th and 5th grades have the option to participate in after-school choirs. The students have fun singing together and performing at some of our school events. For more information contact Debra Erck at derck@austinisd.org.
Students in all grades K-5 can participate in Math Pentathlon after school on Wednesdays. Math Pentathlon is a program that teaches math skills and logical thinking using games. Students practice games throughout the year. In the spring, students have the opportunity to play these games in a competition with students from other Austin-area schools.
Teachers and students who participate in the math club can get unofficial game rules and other helpful materials here.
